Lucien Desar, an eclectic composer in every sense of the term, dabbles occasionally in Neo-Classical works, though his body of work is Gothic pop. His “Alice in Wonderland Suite” is a spectacular combination of narrated introductions to various chapters of the book, and his musical interpretations of them. (Alise Ashby, a young actress from Winchester, UK, who just happens to have a lovely soft-but-no-nonsense voice that was perfect for Alice, narrates. That accent . . . !)
I highly recommend the work, but nullius in verba. You can listen for yourself, and see if you’re as intrigued as I was when I first heard it. The track list is below, and all samples provided by either CDBaby (the vendor) or by Desar himself you can find here.
