A New Metre: Poetry Archive

“I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee . . .” —III John 1:13

Cacaphony

I want to write,
but every time I put a pen to page,
cacaphony
fills my mind
(or nothing).

“Cacaphony:”
that’s one of those words
I never can purge
from my life —
it sounds poetic
(which is why it’s not),
so I say it
(and don’t know what else
to say).
